Today I took the bus earlier than normal because I wanted to start a routine of working 8:30-4:45. I found on this particular day there were less people on the bus and subway.
Today I got invited to and educational forum with Julie and they served breakfast at this meeting so I got to eat some yummy muffins, croissants and fruit with juice. Then I got to see a presentation on learning styles. Sounds boring to you guys probably but I found it interesting.
The meeting ended around noon and of course after that food I wasn't hungry so I decided to put off lunch until later when I was hungry.
I was introduced to Walter who is technically part of a portion of our department but a manager in a different section so to speak. Walter is a HUGE Eagles fan. He wears all sorts of Eagles clothing and he's quite funny. I told him how the Eagles were my new favourite band and how I'd really enjoyed the parts of the Eagles Live in Melbourne DVD that I saw. I said that I specifically liked how the DVD included the stuff the guys had done when they were solo artists too, particularly Don Henley. So later that day a burned copy of a Don Henley cd turned up on my desk compliments of Walter.
I had a meeting for the project I'm involved with that afternoon and I went in without having eaten lunch. Before the end of the meeting I was already regretting that. I could hardly concentrate I was so hungry. Not too mention that the meeting seemed at least to me to get hung up. Once it was finally done I wolfed down lunch like a ravenous animal!
I got back to the house fairly early that night cause traffic wasn't so bad. Because it was particularly hot Auntie Carol decided that anything that didn't require much cooking was a good dinner option. She made poached chicken, cucumber and tomato salad and her famous potato salad. Now let me tell you I disliked potato salad till I tried hers. It was SO good!
After dinner Auntie Carol took me over to the library so that if I was bored one night I'd know where it is. I looked for one book but was unsuccessful in locating it. This was ok since I have three still to read at home and plus Karen got me a gift card for Indigo and I still have to use that. Instead I read the paper while Auntie Carol tracked down new reading material.
When I got home I decided it was time to download the pictures I'd taken so that everyone could see what I was up to.
I found out that Auntie Carol had a Kodak digital camera that she didn't use. She said that Uncle Donald had been the one who used it and she didn't know how. So while we waited for her computer to do it's window's update I showed her step by step how to use it. The only problem was that the camera didn't have a card and the internal memory only held 15 pictures. I decided then that I would go out and get Auntie Carol a card for her camera.
